How do you make a specialty beer extra special?

Tecate from Mexico wanted to stir up greater consumer ferment about its specialty beer, which was competing with bigger, better-known brands in U.S. supermarkets.


The Preston/Tully Group partnered with Tecate to develop a dynamic cross-promotion with Avocados from Mexico that brought Tecate beyond the beer aisle and into the produce section.

A P-O-S display featured colorful booklets packed with authentic guacamole recipes and discount coupons offering big savings on purchases of Tecate beer and Avocados from Mexico. Celebrity chef Rick Bayless, noted for his Mexican cuisine, was featured in this festive Cinco de Mayo-themed promotion that created a strong in-store presence and incremental sales for Tecate.
